(Preposition)DOWN

BACK DOWN: to accept defeat in an argument, claim etc. the opposite
team had to back down in the debate.
BEAR DOWN: defear, overcome. It was not easy to bear down my son and
make him agree to marry.
BEAT DOWN: shine very brightly and harshly, rain heavily and hard.
