BIND BY: to redude freedom.  he was bound by an oath of secrecy.
BOUND BY: surrounded by. the country is bounded by four other countries.
CALL BY: pay a short visit. i called by to know how he was doing.
COME BY: make a short visit. she is likely to come by today.
DIVISIBLE BY: a number that can be divided, with no remainder. Nine is
divisible by three.
DROP BY: pay a visit without information. I dropped by to see how she was.
GO BY: pass, elapse. Many years have gone by.
HEADED BY: be in the front of. the demonstration was headed by her.
*HOD BY: to adhere to. when you take decision hold by it.
INCREASE BY: become larger in amount, degree etc. the temperature
increased  by 5 degrees celcius in a day.
JUDGE BY: judge him by his deeds.
JOSTLE BY: to push or knock against. The actress was jostled by the
crowd as she came down the platform.
KNOWN BY: a man is known by the company he keeps.
LAY BY: save for future. he laid by money for the rainy days.

SLIP BY: pass away. i never knew how time slips by.
SPEED BY: pass very quickly. holidays sped by and it was time to go
back ot work.
*STAND BY: not to try to stop something.the police stood by while the
agittators burnt the vehicles.
STAND BY: be ready to give help or take action.additional troops were
put on stand by.
STAND BY: continue to support somebody. he stood by her through thick and thin.
STAND BY: be firm on earlier opinion,decision etc. they stood by their promise.
STICK BY: continue with your belieft etc. i sitck by what i have said earlier.
STICK BY: continue supporting somebody. she continued sticking by her friend.
STOP BY: visit a place for a short while.i stopped by them and enjoyed a coffee.
SWEAR BY: believe that something is really effective, true, useful
etc. he always swore by democracy.
